The small dogs wander the city streets, and lived at El Centro Rural Metodista, where we stayed. They are friendly and like to be petted and given attention.

On our second day in Costa Rica, I joined another volunteer for a morning walk in the wilds below our dorm. We saw a scenic waterfall:
On Friday, February 13, 2009, I embarked on a Volunteers in Mission trip to Costa Rica. Upon arrival at Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose', the capital, we boarded a coach bus. Next, our leader, Phil, spoke to us.
Our cook was a woman named Juanita. Here she is with some of her family. That's her little boy in the front, Batos:
Our mission team was from Maryland mostly, but also some from California, Indiana, and South Carolina. We worshiped together as one, because, as the old hymn puts it, "In Christ there is no East or West, in Him no South or North."
A young man named Josh played the guitar and led us in our songs in the dining hall.
